This blog documents the reflections and insights from a mission team serving in Cambodia in September 2011. Our purpose is to train and equip the Methodist pastors and spouses for telling the stories of the gospel by heart. We will also be working with the Cambodian Methodist cabinet, developing leadership and supervision skills and with the faculty of the Cambodian Methodist Bible School to explore ways to incorporate biblical storytelling into their regular teaching. Finally, part of our team will be consulting with the Community Health and Agricultural Development mission in Cambodia about long-term goals and objectives (See the first blog entry for more details).

Members of our team include Tom, Elizabeth, Will & Alistair Rand, Tom & Amelia Boomershine, Juliana Rowe, Roger & Marilyn Evans, Chad, Angela, Jared and Elisha Meeks. Please pray for us on our mission from September 6-20, 2011.

We would like to thank the West Ohio Conference and General Board of Global Ministries of the United Methodist Church as well as the Network of Biblical Storytellers for helping to sponsor this event. We also want to thank the following churches: Oxford UMC (Oxford, OH), Concord UMC (Englewood, OH), Grace UMC (Dayton, OH), Antioch UMC (Trotwood, OH), Christ UMC (New York City), Korean Grace Church (Dayton, OH), Linworth UMC (Columbus, OH), First UMC (Milford, OH), Shiloh UMC (Cincinnati, OH), and Church of the Messiah (Westerville, OH), as well as numerous individuals for their support in sponsoring Cambodian pastors and spouses so they will be able to participate in the training.
